Rewrite of the article[edit]

Hello. I completed a rewrite of this article on July 12, 2020. The article before my rewrite can be seen here. Here is the article after my rewrite.

I have kept almost none of the original text, which was largely without citations. However, I attempted to cover all of the same topics and organize the sections in a way comparable to what had been covered before. In addition to providing citations for existing content, the article introduces new content, e.g. judicial crisis of the 1960s and 70s, administrative responsibilities, role of the Cabinet Legislation Bureau, allocated seats, and facility history. I think the rewrite is also more effective in delivering more content concisely.

Future areas of expansion for this article reintroducing the significant cases section. I removed a list of cases from the pre-revision article, because without links or elaboration, it seemed like only a list of words with no meaning. I would like to work towards introducing a case list later. In particular Kurokawa v. Chiba Election Commission seems to be significant enough to deserve its own article. There are also a number of related articles that could benefit from some duplication of information from this one, e.g. Chief Justice of Japan.

Hiroyuki Kanno[edit]

In section 6 (justices) a certain "Hiroyuki Kanno" is on the list, but that links to an article about a mixed martial artist with the same name. I am pretty sure that is wrong.
