stylized as SUPERMAN?[edit]

I'd hazard a guess until the official logo comes out, we won't put that it's stylized in capital letters? I'm just going off of how James Gunn framed it on his Instagram post. 2600:6C5D:0:A41:D79:7CA1:A2DA:96FE (talk) 22:56, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's hard to tell, unless he clarifies, whether he means that the title is in all caps or if he just did that for the announcement. - adamstom97 (talk) 23:18, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Adamstom.97 gotcha, no worries. just thought I'd ask about it. 2600:6C5D:0:A41:80A0:5FD9:C10D:D310 (talk) 20:58, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's generally not a relevant stylization, as it's usually fairly standard for titles to be in all caps in logos and posters. Relevant stylizations are signficantly different from the regular title, for example Fantastic Four stylized as FANT4STIC. —El Millo (talk) 21:03, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm erring on the side of caution and calling this more of a stylistic preference for Gunn on his socials rather than how the title would be stylized on say a poster or website (which typically are all-caps anyways and not really worth noting in this instance). @Trailblazer101 Again, no worries, I just thought I'd ask. thanks you guys 2600:6C5D:0:A41:F545:BB2:6108:10CF (talk) 20:48, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reboot[edit]

There are no sources that claim this film is a "remake" nor a "reimagining" of the 1978 film. It is a straight reboot.

And there are far more out there. This is a reboot. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 15:42, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is clear that this is a reboot, it looks to me that only one editor has decided that it is a remake based on the new title. But that isn't how that works. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:18, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Superman: Legacy[edit]

Given that the Legacy subtitle was removed from the film's title, should it also be removed from the production section; having all instances of Legacy replaced with just Superman or the film/movie? PanagiotisZois (talk) 12:39, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was known as Superman: Legacy for most of its development and pre-production. We're not going to rewrite history and remove those instances. Trailblazer101 (talk) 16:10, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK... so if the film changes title again and becomes The Man of Steel, those 8 instances where Legacy is used as the film's title in the "Pre-production" section will remain intact? That won't be confusing at all. --PanagiotisZois (talk) 16:18, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We already note it was titled Superman: Legacy in the lead of the article and explain the subtitle being dropped there and in the Pre-production section. It really shouldn't be confusing. We're not going to retcon what it was titled for most of production. Trailblazer101 (talk) 16:22, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We also don't use Superman: Legacy before that title was announced, so anyone reading through the production section will get to the part where that title was announced and start seeing it used to refer to the film, and then they will get to the part where the new title was announced and started seeing that used to refer to the film. It should only be confusing for someone who doesn't read the lead and just jumps to random parts of the page, and we can't help if someone chooses to do that. - adamstom97 (talk) 17:03, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
