World War II service[edit]

Although Sebo served in the United States Army Air Forces during the World War II era, no reliable sources found as of yet state that he served overseas in a war zone during the war. Accordingly, Category:American military personnel of World War II was removed from the article. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 11:58, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@FieldMarine: where is the stipulation that a person must have served overseas in a war zone during the war in order for this category to apply? George Marshall did not serve overseas during WWII. Neither did Dwight D. Eisenhower as a junior officer during WWI. Jweiss11 (talk) 15:38, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What role did Sebo have during the war that merits him having the category? Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 01:22, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sebo was an officer for five years. That's what the source says. Beyond that I can't say. What role did Eisenhower have in WWI? He was a training officer. Again, where is the stipulation that a person must have served overseas in a war zone during the war in order for this category to apply? Jweiss11 (talk) 02:21, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Categorization, a category should be defining. How is being an officer for five years defining for Sebo with respect to having this category included in this article about him? Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 12:41, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
