Birth Name[edit]

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, he obviously wants to be known by his stage name, and his privacy should be respected. On the other hand, stating that his "birth name" is "Stanard Q. Ridgway" is simply providing misinformation. His real name is well-known in the music industry. Here are a couple of pages demonstrating this:

His birth name is also listed in the published credits for the authorship of the song "Mexican Radio." Here are a couple of examples of citations:

Therefore, I've simply deleted the "birth name" item from the infobox.

→ For the sake of clarity and to make certain that all information is out there, I added both names (Ridgway and Funsten), and added links to the said pages (one to All Music Guide and the other to one of the links above). I'm thinking this will help to keep this page up to standard formatting. Kagurae 08:55, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fail to see why his birth name isn't relevant, and why it should be omitted. Many artists use a stage name, and their articles include their birth names. --Haoma (talk) 22:53, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article heading should be standard formatting as referenced above. Professional name should format first in article as it does in others of this type. Birth name is and has been common knowledge in music industry as stated above and is referenced in published historical credits as stated above. Ref link to b. records superfluous and not reccomended as written in Wiki protocol for articles on living persons. Geekoo (talk) 05:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

His real name is Standard Ridgway Funsten III. I was told this by both Stan and Joe Nanini back in the 80s. DavidRavenMoon (talk) 21:28, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actual biographical information[edit]

This article is styled a biography, but it contains precious little actual biographical information, essentially tapped out at its subject's birthdate and place. From this talk page, even his birth name got deleted. There's nothing about his parents, siblings (if any) upbringing, or education. In short, it's pretty much a resumė (see WP:promo). I'm sure Wikipedia can do better than that. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 17:39, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
