Is this for boilers or jet engines or both? Biscuittin (talk) 23:21, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is both. I have added refs. Biscuittin (talk) 09:02, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Air staged supply and fuel staged supply[edit]

The article does not explain these adequately. I assume that:

  • with air staged supply, the fuel is burned "rich" and more air is added at the second stage
  • with fuel staged supply, the fuel is burned "lean" and more fuel is added at the second stage

Can anyone confirm this? Biscuittin (talk) 19:23, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Split and disambiguate[edit]

I propose moving this page to Staged combustion (energy) and changing this page to disambiguation. The rocket engine concept and the boiler concept have nothing to do with each other. In addition the rocket engine sense of "staged combustion" is much more prevalent as an internet search will show. While there was an admirable effort to make it into a real page, it's still a largely citationless stub. —Ben Brockert (42) 23:59, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
