Moved without the full stop[edit]

I moved St. James's Park to St James's park (without the full stop) because according to the official website, it doesn't have a full stop. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Parable1991 (talkcontribs) 01:21, 31 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I'm afraid that I've moved this back.
There was a discussion about this a while ago (2004?), and the "full stop" is indeed part of the name. I've got a few 'photos of the park's signage to prove it if you really want. :-)
A web-site is a very poor guide for what is "correct", as they're normally done by web designers rather than people familiar with the topic.
For comparison, St. James's Park tube station is also with the dot.

I f'd up[edit]

I didn't mean to undo the move, sorry. It should be at St James's Park, I was looking at the incoming redirects from a different page. --Pretty Green (talk) 11:40, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dead man on West Island[edit]

Article here: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23993802-man-obsessed-with-the-queen-died-on-island-next-to-palace.do 94.30.50.159 (talk) 16:36, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:St James's Park Lake – East from the Blue Bridge - 2012-10-06.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on March 7, 2014. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2014-03-07. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:34, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

St. James's Park
The lake at St. James's Park, viewed from the Blue Bridge. St. James's Park in the City of Westminster, central London, is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London. Established in 1603 after a marsh was drained, the park was once home to camels, crocodiles, and an elephant.Photograph: Colin

Page should be moved to St James's Park[edit]

The above discussion about the name is wrong. The recent signage is all St James's Park, as is the official website. Modern British English uses 'St', not 'St.' The name of the Tube station is irrelevant. Returnofthesecretbar (talk) 18:54, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, the full stop is an abomination; I will move the article per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:TIES. Firebrace (talk) 15:54, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding More Information[edit]

Hello! There is limited mention of the famous St James Park pelicans so I will add a section about them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Michellerow (talkcontribs) 19:27, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
