The statement regarding a merger with Otago is not accurate, it was absorbed in a realignment and thus does not organise all cricket in Southland. All rep games are set up by the major association Otago, or nationally.
I think it is correct as it is expressed here: "For first-class (and in later years List A and Twenty20) cricket purposes Southland merged with Otago." It then goes on to say that Southland retained its independence for cricket at lower levels. Sammyrice (talk) 01:50, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
