The article Southern Damascus offensive (March 2018), along with other pages relating to the Syrian Civil War and ISIL, is designated by the community as a contentious topic. The current restrictions are:

Enforcement procedures:

Violations of any restrictions (excluding 1RR/reverting violations) and other conduct issues should be reported to the administrators' incidents noticeboard. Violations of revert restrictions should be reported to the administrators' edit warring noticeboard.
Editors who violate any listed restrictions may be blocked by any uninvolved administrator, even on a first offense.
An editor must be aware before they can be sanctioned.

With respect to any reverting restrictions:

Edits made solely to enforce any clearly established consensus are exempt from all edit-warring restrictions. In order to be considered "clearly established" the consensus must be proven by prior talk-page discussion.
Edits made which remove or otherwise change any material placed by clearly established consensus, without first obtaining consensus to do so, may be treated in the same manner as clear vandalism.
Clear vandalism of any origin may be reverted without restriction.
Reverts of edits made by anonymous (IP) editors that are not vandalism are exempt from the 1RR but are subject to the usual rules on edit warring. If you are in doubt, contact an administrator for assistance.

Palestinian militias flag[edit]

@Applodion: perhaps the original logo and flag of two Palestinian militias is copyright protected, but neither of those militias have anything to do with the State of Palestine; I may agree to use Palestinian flag (without the link to State of Palestine), but are we sure they use the current Palestinian administration flag?GreyShark (dibra) 11:52, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Greyshark09: Yes. The FPM used the Palestinian flag on a official occasion to honor their killed members (see here), and the Palestinian People's Party regularily uses the Palestinian flag during rallies. Just because they use the flag does not mean that they represent the Palestinian government, but that is also not implied here - after all many groups use flags of government they do not officially represent or even fight against - For example, FARC dissidents use the flag of Colombia despite fighting against the Colombian government. However, like in the case of FARC dissidents - we wouldn't use the Colombian state flag icon which links to the Colombian Republic, but only the image. I don't mind to use the Palestinian flag for those militias, but as long as the flag doesn't link to the State of Palestine, which doesn't control those militias.GreyShark (dibra) 13:01, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection in Syria[edit]

The US policy of Redirection was planned in 2006 in an effort led by Elliott Abrams, and put into effect with the destruction of Nahr al Bared Camp in Lebanon, in May of 2007. I will leave the details of that plan to research by the reader. It would be interesting to compare the destruction of Yarmouk camp - essentially a Palestinian camp similar to Nahr al Bared - to the destruction of Nahr al bared. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Montoya44 (talk • contribs) 08:21, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
