Lede[edit]

I fail to see how the following is an improvement over the current lede:

The Southern Appalachian spruce-fir forest is an ecoregion of the Temperate coniferous forests Biome, a type of montane coniferous forest that grows in the highest elevations in the southern Appalachian Mountains of the Eastern United States.

This is pretty far from being a "concise overview" of the topic, and contains little more than technical jargon that serves only to frustrate the general reader. Furthermore, WP:LEADLENGTH calls for a minimum of two, and up to three, paragraphs for an article of this size. Bms4880 (talk) 14:29, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Appalachian Biosphere Reserve[edit]

This page is a redirect from the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme for the Southern Appalachian Biosphere Reserve (SABR). However, this page discusses an ecological region rather than the UNESCO recognized SABR. See www.SAMAB.org for more information on the SABR. 2601:840:8280:1760:E069:1990:6D07:F077 (talk) 05:49, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
