Is there any reason why this article shouldn't be merged with South African Class 9E, Series 2 to a single article entitled South African Class 9E? It seems that most of the content of the two articles is identical. - htonl (talk) 14:43, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, please don't. André Kritzinger 13:51, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Can I ask why? About 90% of the content seems to be the same on both articles. - htonl (talk) 14:41, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For now, yes. They were different enough for the SAR to group them in different subclasses, with differences in braking and other internal systems, bogie design and more. Even after the recent upgradings that were done to both series 1 and series 2, they still look different today. I'm still looking for sources to use to update the articles with this type of information - WP:NOR, you know. André Kritzinger 13:01, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
That makes sense, thanks. - htonl (talk) 13:34, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
