AAA-PBP merger[edit]

The Irish Times article seems to suggest that the parties are also uniting at council level, but isn't fully clear on the point. Should a separate article be created for the new grouping until further details are provided, with the existing pieces remaining as at present? Yes, it will be a separate article. For example, PBP also operates in Northern Ireland, and afaik this new alliance only affects the Republic of Ireland part of PBP. Snappy (talk) 12:55, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing Issues[edit]

The sources in question do not mention Solidarity supporting a 'British Isles Federation'. The first source is a primary source 'The Socialist' which is a magazine of the Socialist Party (not Solidarity) and the second source mentions again the Socialist Party supporting a 'British Isle Federation' but not Solidarity. Nowhere in these sources is the statement "Solidarity believes that Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales should merge and form a socialist federation, which should aspire to be part of a Socialist Federation of Europe" justified. The Socialist Party and the Solidarity alliance are different organisations and to say if one believes something the other must is WP:OR. StairySky (talk) 13:36, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't look like anybody has been able to verify that they are the same organisation and nobody has attempted to provide reliable sources to prove that they are so it should be removed. StairySky (talk) 08:46, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In fact reliable sources indicate that they are separate organisations. This a pretty clear case of WP:OR so considering the editors haven't been contributing to the talk page discussion I may have to get a third opinion or go to the reliable sources noticeboard.
