Use of popular media sources[edit]

This article seems to cite popular media sources (the New York Times, LA Times, New Republic) too much. These are useful for discussing public awareness of the hypertension hypothesis (as with the New Republic citation for Oprah mentioning it), but WP:MEDPOP indicates that for discussion of the scientific validity of the hypothesis we should avoid relying on these sorts of sources and instead base that aspect of the article on the papers in medical journals. In particular, the fact that the popular articles describe the hypothesis as a myth while the journal articles are divided as to its validity indicates that we should rely on the popular articles less. - 73.195.249.93 (talk) 20:50, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
