Looks like a press release for a non-notable event; the links to YouTube and Twitter are particularly shameless. Removal of "editing issues" tag[edit]

I have removed the tag because I do not think it is applicable:

  • I am a major editor of this article. I have no connection with the subject, other than the fact that someone who does have a connnection asked me to write up the information as neutrally as possible - they helped find sources, and I found some.
  • Notability: I think it meets notability. No one has taken steps to list this for deletion in the last year, so I assume no one has serious doubts on its notability. If you disagree, take it to articles for deletion
  • Neutrality: I have tried very hard to make this as neutral as possible. If you see something that is not written neutrally (I am not the only contributor, and do not keep an eye on it all the time), remove/edit the non-neutral bits!

2015: “Global Energy Transitions

Information to be added:

The eighth edition of Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) was held from 26 to 30 October 2015 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The theme of the event was “Global Energy Transitions”, which reflected how volatility in oil prices, growing energy demand in Asia, and increasing market interconnectivity were reshaping the global energy system.[1]

S. Iswaran, Minister of Trade & Industry (Industry) delivered the SIEW Opening Remarks, where he announced the plan to establish a Secondary Gas Trading Market (SGTM) in Singapore to enhance the country’s trading environment.[2] This was followed by the SIEW Opening Keynote Address, presented by Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), who discussed issues to consider in managing the world’s energy transition.[3]The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon also penned a special message for SIEW 2015.[4]

The Singapore Energy Summit (SES) featured three high-level dialogue sessions with 28 illustrious energy leaders, who shared their perspectives on the world’s most pressing energy issues. These included Asia’s role in driving a cleaner global energy system, achieving global energy security, and responding to threats/risks. New to SES this year were two special plenaries focusing on the outlook for oil and gas. The first featured a discussion by Charif Souki, Chairman and CEO of Cheniere Energy, and Peter Coleman, Managing Director and CEO of Woodside Energy, who discussed the role of gas in shaping the global energy landscape. The second plenary focused on the impact of oil prices on market dynamics. Speakers included Amos J Hochstein, Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs, Bureau of Energy Resources, U.S. Department of State; Tor Martin Anfinnsen, Senior Vice President for Marketing & Trading, Statoil; and Masakazu Toyoda, Chairman and CEO, The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ).

In conjunction with Singapore’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, SG50, SIEW 2015 presented The Singapore Energy Story exhibition, commissioned by EMA, which showcased the country’s energy journey since independence across four key themes – Accessibility, Reliability, Efficiency, and Future Readiness.[5] SIEW 2015 also hosted the SG50 Jubilee Reception, which commemorated Singapore’s 50 years of independence and energy achievements. The reception was attended by around 550 leaders from the energy industry.

Prominent global energy leaders who spoke at SIEW 2015 included Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Malaysia; Hiroshi Ozaki, Chairman, Osaka Gas; and Kyle Peters, Senior Vice President, Operations, The World Bank.

Rounding up the other events at SIEW were the SIEW Thinktank Roundtables, which featured niche discussions on topics ranging from oil pricing to cybersecurity in the energy sector; Youth@SIEW, where some 300 students discussed Singapore’s energy future with Minister S Iswaran; the second Youth Energy Showcase, which saw a total of 13 projects from nine tertiary institutions;Energy leaders at SIEW conclude discussions on Global Energy Transitions — SIEW. 2016: “New Energy Realities

Information to be added: The ninth edition of Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) took place from 24 to 28 October 2016. More than 13,000 delegates from more than 60 countries attended the event.[6]

Trade & Industry (Industry) Minister S Iswaran delivered the SIEW Opening Remarks, where he announced that International Energy Agency (IEA) welcomes Singapore as an Association Country.[7][8] This was followed by the SIEW Opening Keynote Address (SOK), presented by Rachel Kyte, CEO and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), and David Gray, Chairman of UK Gas & Electricity Markets Authority (GEMA).

The panel discussions under the Singapore Energy Summit (SES) featured a strong line-up of illustrious energy leaders, who shared their perspectives on Asia’s new energy realities, disruptive technologies, and the role of oil and gas in tomorrow’s energy system. Speakers included Hon. Simon Bridges, Minister of Energy and Resources, New Zealand; Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and Anil Sardana CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power.

SIEW 2016 introduced two new events: 1. The Energy Access Forum, co-organised by the EMA and UNESCAP, addressed the challenge of enhancing energy access in the region under the theme “Powering Development in the Asia-Pacific”, attracting over 300 delegates from more than 20 countries and international organizations. 2. The SIEW Energy Insights series was launched in 2016 to generate greater outreach in the run-up to SIEW, and culminated in two report launches at SIEW – Dr Fatih Birol of IEA and Agneta Rising, Director General of World Nuclear Association (WNA) launched the “Medium-Term Renewable Energy Market Report 2016” and “World Nuclear Performance Report 2016 – Asia Focus” respectively.

Other events at SIEW 2016 included the SIEW Thinktank Roundtables – where 10 local and international organizations hosted nine roundtable sessions, with topics ranging from the outlook on Asian LNG and power sector integration to cybersecurity strategies in power generation; and Youth@SIEW – which saw 360 students participate in the “In Dialogue with Youth” session and engage in an insightful dialogue with Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran,[9] Frank Phuan (Co-Founder and Director of Sunseap Group) and Valerie Lee (General Manager, Sembcorp Power). A total of 14 projects from various institutes of higher learning were featured at this year’s Youth Energy Showcase. Partner events included the Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES), Asian Downstream Summit and Gas Asia Summit.
