Content issues[edit]

Some content issues are being solved at Tadija's page [1]. --Sulmues (talk) 22:48, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One small link... Madrasah and portico has been reconstructed last year. [2] So article should be updated with that information. :) --Tadijaspeaks 14:45, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Go find a source for that... Thanks though. --Sulmues (talk) 17:27, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sofi Sinan Pasha did not order any monastery destructions[edit]

Ok, I made this edit [3], because none of the sources say that Sofi Sinan Pasha ordered the destruction of the monastery. Tadija btw thanks for providing page numbers. If you have a quote for the references that I removed which endorse your statement that Sofi Sinana Pasha really DID order the destruction, then please provide full quote: I couldn't see anything. Kaleshi is very specific in this and says clearly that the destruction of the monastery had been gradual and Sofi Sinan Pasha for many reasons couldn't have ordered the destruction: The monastery was already in an abandoned state. --Sulmues (talk) 17:27, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Btw, Kaleshi uses many times this reference: Ivan Jastrebov, Sinan-pasha i Kukli-beg, Glasnik Srpskog uçenog drushtva, XLIII, Beograd, 1876, fq. 1- 51. I. Jastrebov, Stara Srbija i Albanija, Spomenik Srpske Akademije i Nauka, XLI, II razred, Beograd, 1904, fq. 36. I. Jastrebov, Podaci za istoriju crkve, Beograd, 1875. You may want to check him too: Jastrebov clearly states that the Monastery was in a completely abandoned state and in ruins when the mosque was built. --Sulmues (talk) 17:38, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No matter on the state of the ruin. By using stones from ruin, he destroyed it as much as he did. Using the stones from a ruin is further destruction. For example, just imagine how much "spare stones" can be found now at the Parthenon. By removing ANY of those stones now, we continue destruction of that ancient temple. Same here. Sofi Sinan Pasha ordered continuation of the monastery destruction, by using stones from a church for a mosque. Also, this may be just question of rewording. But, anyway, you poor and POV revert, and removal of multiple sources (4!), just to feed your own point of you, without my agreement, was just the thing that i was expecting. And after you asked me for cite templates! Why did you asked that from me, while you wanted to remove them? And again removal of sources. Last time, it was Skanderbeg article. Now here. Somewhere deep inside of me, i hoped that you can edit at least one article in neutral way. It looks i was wrong. Once again.

No more from me. --Tadijaspeaks 20:17, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry you feel this way, but let's focus on what the sources say. One thing is to say: "Sinan Pasha ordered that stones be used", another is that Sofi Sinan Pasha "ordered the destruction of the monastery". In my edit the sentence that I removed was "Sofi Sinan Pasha ordered the destruction of the monastery ruins". If something is in ruins, you can't destroy anymore, so that sentence makes no sense. The monastery was already in ruins and Sofi Sinan Pasha used the stones. The Parthenon has been in ruins for hundreds of years, if I steal the stones now, I can't be accused of ruining the building, but of stealing the pieces. Kaleshi in 1972 debunked the legend that Sofi Sinan Pasha ordered the destruction, but he is not saying the opposite of your three sources. It's just that none of them say that Sofi Sinan Pasha "ordered" a destruction, and that's OR. Actually the only source that might endorse your POV is the third one, Bradt's guide, which says "According to Serbian narrative", which you omitted above. However that's just a folk's legend, not supported by any scholars, rather, debunked by them, and would qualify as wp:fringe: Fringe stuff has no place in an Encyclopedia. --Sulmues (talk) 20:55, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Following a recent upload by Mdupont, I added several images to the above category. There are more images in Commons:Category:Mosques in Prizren that need help identifying them. -- 签名 sig at 07:45, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Abdullah Gërguri[edit]

the article Abdullah Gërguri contains more details but is not linked at all. need to review and merge details. James Michael DuPont (talk) 05:46, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've now linked the Abdullah Gërguri from the mosque page, with a brief contentualization in the text. This seems sufficient, given that the conservator also worked on other buildings. Klbrain (talk) 22:40, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
