Date Of Birth[edit]

Date Of Birth mentioned here on Nigam's article is incorrect. He was born in 2001 and not 2000. I am saying it on the basis of youtube videos [1] and his social media [2] where he mentioned his correct DOB or age. I had tried changing DOB earlier but wasn't able to due to lack of reliable sources. Even after trying and researching, I can't find a reliable source to support the fact and make the respective correction. Now, how to correct the year of birth regardless of having an accurate or reliable source? ManaliJain (talk) 05:38, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You can't change facts in an article without having a reliable source, especially when the article already cites sources. The second source mentioned by Princepratap1234 even says Siddharth Nigam himself said he was born in 2000 (i.e. in 2018 he said he was 18). It even speculates that he was in fact born in 1999, as a photo of him from 2017 already suggested he was 18. Perhaps Siddharth Nigam is publicly trying to make himself look younger every year (for commercial reasons)? If that's the case, then even 1999 may not be the definitive answer. But we should generally follow reliable sources. If there are multiple conflicting reliable sources, or if the subject of the article himself is known to be an unreliable or dubious source (if we want to avoid the word "lying"), then they shouldn't be cited and the facts shouldn't be included in the article, or they should be included in a way that makes it clear they're uncertain.—J.
