Untitled[edit]

The section on the use of "shutdown" in computers needs to cover more then just Unix. Both the Mac and the PC have a "Shutdown" feature though in XP it's refered to as "Turn Off Computer...". This section should mention why your supposed "Shutdown" via the operating system rather just turning of the machine in operating system like Mac OS Classic, OS X, Win9X, NT, 2000, and XP. --Cab88 13:13, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"shut down" in slang[edit]

To my knowledge, the phrase used isn't "shut down", but "shot down", an equivalent of "pwned", signifying that someone has been trumped. "Shut up" would be a phrase applicable to the situation described in the article, but doesn't refer to the meaning given. ~GMH talk to me 03:22, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
