Original owner[edit]

According to both de Figueiredo (reffed) & Robinson A Guide to the Country Houses of the North-West the original owners were Trelawnys. de Figueiredo gives "Horace Trelawny", Robinson gives "Capt. H.D. Brereton-Trelawny", also noting that he's the elder brother of "eccentric poet Edward John Trelawny". Espresso Addict (talk) 00:09, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this building was also called "Shotwick Park" then what is this article created in Sept 2007 about? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.19.228 (talk) 17:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shotwick Park is now a parish; Shotwick House is a house. Maybe the name was changed because of this. Anyway they are now separate entities and IMO merging is not appropriate.--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 17:26, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well that's as clear as mud...according to this article, Shotwick Park was also the name of the house! But that does not clarify in either article, whether the house was named for the area or the area took its name from this house. Therefore the assumption "Shotwick Park is now a parish" is erroneous, it might have always been a parish, with this large house taking its name as the principle structure within it (maybe because it was the principle landowner). There needs to be clarification in both articles.
