About quatity and date of manufacture information[edit]

This page is showing incorrect quantities for some series. Wikipedia is not a guide for railfanning and such. Quantity informations should either be corrected or removed. Also, there may be a possible error in date of manufacture on Shoreliner IV. I do not know when these are built exactly, so this information should also either be corrected or removed.

Car series that were ex-SLEs is unknown[edit]

I have edited some parts of this page because it contained too many incorrect information. However, I do not know which series was a former SLE cars. According to List of Shoreliner names page, these were Shoreliner Is and/or IIs. And according to Shore Line East page, these are Shoreliner IIIs. It is a total mix-up, and I believe ex-SLEs had no center door. That is why I am leaving that part out. If anyone knows which series these cars were, you are welcome to put it there.

However, as a note, Wikipedia is not a guide for railfanning and such. List of Shoreliner names page is already nominated for deletion for the second time. If this page is considered to be used for guide, it should be nominated for deletion, too.

Strictly speaking, the ex-SLE cars aren't in the series proper, as they were purchased separately (during the period between the IIs and IIIs, if I'm not mistaken). That said, I believe they are more IIs than IIIs because of the lack of center doors.
Also, as the nominator of List of Shoreliner names, I would certainly say that this article, which is a general overview is not a deletion candidate. It's the specificity, including exact numbers, that makes the List article a guide entry, not an encyclopedia article.oknazevad (talk) 02:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, good. If ex-SLE aren't any series proper, it doesn't belong here, right?

Now, when I looked at the List of Shoreliner names page and counted correctly, there are 75 (Is and IIs combined) no-center-door cars, and 109 (49 IIIs and 60 IVs) center-door cars. These excludes ex-SLE cars. Am I correct? Takuma Ishizeki (talk) 02:37, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure. I'd check the railroad.net thread I linked to on your talk page some time back. Not a reliable source by Wikipedia standards, but a good quick reference. I actually think the list includes the ex-SLE cars, which are named.oknazevad (talk) 02:43, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
