US Release[edit]

Listed Run Time inconsistent[edit]

The Run Time for this (2 episodes of 90 minutes) is inconsistent with other TV series in Wikipedia, in that the time includes commercials. I would suggest changing it to the actual time without commercials, which is about 138 minutes. I'll leave this up to the folks who have been looking after this article up to now. Dubious/unhelpful statement in opening of article[edit]

The statement "Contrary to most parts of the TV series, Sharpe's Peril isn't based on one of Cornwell's novels. Both are set in 1817, two years after Sharpe has retired as a farmer in Normandy, so chronologically they come after Sharpe's Waterloo (1815) and before the final novel Sharpe's Devil (1820–21)" is to my mind problematic and misleading. As I have noted about a similar statement in the Sharpe's Challenge article at Talk:Sharpe's Challenge ITV had created two Sharpe stories not based on novels by Bernard Cornwell prior to Sharpe's Challenge, and several others share little more than a title and some character names with the Bernard Cornwell novel it is "based" on (eg - most notably the TVSharpe's Gold has almost no relation to the novel of the same name and its writer admitted he did not base it on the novel other than the first few pages). Also it is misleading to talk about it being set prior to Sharpe's Devil as that book has never been adapted as part of the TV series and as Challange and Peril are incompatible with the continuity of the novel series (not least in having Sharpe as widower in 1817 with no children to Lucille) there is no guarantee that the TV Sharpe would have had an equivalent adventure to his novel counterpart.
