Pendleton and Cooper claim[edit]

In terms of the claim in this article In the first Sharpe novel written, Sharpe's Eagle, Cornwell features a teenage Rifleman named Pendleton (who dies at Talavera). In this novel, set two years after Talavera, Pendleton is again mentioned. This is likely a mistake by Cornwell, who has admitted not to have re-read "Eagle" does anyone have a source for the mention of Pendleton in this novel. The e-book edition I have, which I would have got about 2013, does not mention Pendleton. However I realise it is possible that Bernard Cornwell or his editors may have fixed an accidental mention. So does someone have a source for the error being in the original published edition or being acknowledged by Bernard Cornwell? In terms of Cooper being flagged up, the name is common enough that the character here (who is clearly based on the TV character) may not be intended to be the Cooper in the novel Sharpe's Riffles, who if memory serves dies early without much development, but is not depicted as being a close to Harper as the TV Cooper (and the one who appears here and in later-written, but chronologically earlier, Sharpe Novels) is. Of course as the Sharpe novels were written out of sequence there are inevitably a few continuity issues, and compared to some the Cooper duplication is not that major.
