User:Linneasr edits[edit]

Hello Linneasr, I see you have made several edits to the article. You are repeatedly adding the assertion that "Audiences however have enjoyed precisely that overlay of female awareness on an accurately drawn Elizabethan world. The play provides a window of familiarity on the daily experience of four centuries ago." This is uncited and it is difficult to see how it could be. How do we know what 'audiences have enjoyed'? This is why I have removed it, and also restored the cited view of a critic. For the relevant policies on citation and sourcing please see WP:NOR, WP:CITE and WP:RS. Hi, Paul Barlow

Thank you for letting me know why my edits were being changed. I appreciate your comment about cited reviews. However, I have been part of several audiences for the show (we are trying to sell it, so I have been watching it in order to know it), and people are moved by the production. If you would be willing to allow it to stay, I would start the clause re: audiences with the word 'Anecdotally'. At the moment, however, all the criticism is too negative for a script which, in my experience, the average person enjoys.

Linneasr, thanks for your response. I understand the frustration of having to stick rigidly to what is published, and I'm far from dogmatic about this. If I'd found more positive reviews I would have added them. The best approach is to find positive comments from reviews if you can, or maybe published letters about productions. If you are promoting the play I expect you must have a dossier of reviews. Is that the case? Paul B (talk) 15:56, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
