Democrats?

There was a statement regarding the absence of a College Democrats group in Seton Hill University inaccurately attributed to Jen Frick and Evan Reynolds. I removed the statement at 11:33 on September 7.

I just added a cleanup tag and probably, once upon a time, added the advert tag that was just removed. I should've specified here why I'd added the advert tag in the first place (if indeed I had added it), since it looks as though it didn't communicate clearly enough all of the article's flaws. My bad! In my most recent edit summary, I explained that this needs to be edited to conform with WP:UNIGUIDE in addition to the removal of unencyclopedic/advert material such as the majors/degree list. I'm more than willing to do it myself if no one else is up to the task. The academics section is especially tricky, since degrees per se can certainly be included (bachelor's degree and master's degree, or even the distinction between a BA and a BS or an MA and MDiv) but a list of fields of study and majors is generally considered to be a no-no in the WikiProject Universities community. All the best. --Aepoutre (talk) 16:31, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm tending to this article because I know Seton Hill, so I welcome your specific insight as to how to make this article better as a Wiki article. So please, if you have the time, by all means go ahead and make the changes you suggest. I think it will be easier for me (and others who know about Seton Hill Unviersity) to add in new information that *does* meet the guidelines for university entries, than to identify and remove the parts that does not. Teaching with Wikipedia Workshop at CMU (Aug 15)

Editors interested in this article may find the Teaching with Wikipedia Workshop that will take place at CMU on Aug 15 of interest. This workshop is open to general public, and is a joint imitative of CMU and Pitt). There will be another workshop held at Pitt in the Fall as well. It will cover how to include Wikipedia in one's course (WP:SUP) and also how to become a Wikipedia:Campus Ambassadors. Pennsylvania has currently only one ambassador (myself) and it would be great if we could recruit at least several more. Ambassadors help course instructors, showing them how Wikipedia works, and interact with students. Many current ambassadors come from the body of students, faculty and university staff; it is a fun adventure, and adds to one resume/CV, to boot :) If it sounds interesting, feel free to ask me any questions, or to come to the workshop. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:32, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

  • That meeting is during Seton Hill's start-of-school-year employee meeting, but I hope you'll share news of other opportunities. Dennis G. Jerz (talk) 22:27, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Unsourced info in "Campus life" section

An unregistered editor is insisting that some unsourced information remain in the "Campus life" section of this article. Some of the information relates to "recent changes" but the information is not only unsourced but also vague (When did these changes occur? Why are we using vague language like "recent" that will quickly become outdated?). Some of the information is a listing of various campus clubs and student organizations that "represent... the diverse cultural and student interests" but this information is also unsourced and there is no discussion or attempt at outlining how and why those particular organizations are listed and not others. Without such material, it appears to be WP:POV and WP:OR. ElKevbo (talk) 20:48, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
