1967 report[edit]

@RoySmith: The source actually doesn't say which community board made the report. It says During a Community Planning Board field review of blueprints for a recreation area in Seton Falls in 1967, public officials recognized the degraded condition of the park and noted that the "park area, if cleaned and cleared could become a beautiful woodland of rest and recreation in what will soon be a built-up and developed area.' The source of the source is given as Frank Andrews, Bronx Community Planning District 11, Parks and Recreation Committee Report (New York: n.p., 1967), That's quite strange. I'm not sure why CB11 members would be interested in CD12 territory. I'll look for other sources for this. epicgenius (talk) 22:12, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Epicgenius, I've got some emails in to the district managers at both CB11 and CB12. So far, all I've found out is that their records probably don't go back that far :-( The note at the bottom of page 141 in "The Ecological History of an Urban Park" says, "Community Planning District 11". I don't know if a Community Planning District is/was the same thing as a Community Board. I'm going down that rabbit hole now :-) -- RoySmith (talk) 22:29, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@RoySmith: I think we should move this page to mainspace, if you're ready. I filled out the description and history of the park to the best of my knowledge. Epicgenius, My personal preference tends more towards the short and pithy, not to mention quirky, end of the spectrum. I'll see what I can come up with that doesn't mention dead bodies :-) I'll probably be by there again soon, so I'll see if I can get some more photos, and Givans Creek Woods, too.   • @Epicgenius: I think your single-article hooks are going to fare better on the main page than the double ones. ALTR2 sounds scary enough and ALTS1 is also hooky. Both hooks are verified and cited inline. Rest of review per CMD. Good to go on separate days.
