Merge[edit]

I have proposed that the section on the Catholic school be merged into the aritlce on the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester with the Fingler Lakes Christian Academy be merged into the article on Seneca Falls (or whatever village or town it is located). Simply being within the boundaries of a public school district doesn't mean a school is part of a district. As private schools, they are not overseen or administered by anything in this district and thus have no reason to be mentioned here, particularly in the level of detail they are. This article is about the schools that are administered by the Seneca Falls Central School District. --JonRidinger (talk) 04:44, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another option for Finger Lakes Academy would be to create its own article since it apparently has a high school as part of it. Being a high school denotes some notability and would likely survive as a small article, though looking at the school's website, it may be too small for even that. I'd recommend a merge for now into the article of whatever village or town it is located in under that article's "Education" section. --JonRidinger (talk) 04:53, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support merge - The sch district rationale makes sense. With only 65 pupils, the sch is probably too insignificant to justify its own article.--Kudpung (talk) 21:56, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I placed the cleanup tag because of the excessive use of infoboxes and how they fit together. Unless each section is expanded, it creates an awkward look. I removed all of the lists of current and former administrators. Really, only the respective principals need to be listed unless there have been notable faculty or administrators (notable being marked by having a Wikipedia article about them). Long lists of non-notable former and even current administrators are not appropriate on Wikipedia, which was also a problem at the high school article. Wikipedia is not a directory or a mirror site. My suggestions would be to combine all the histories of the schools into the district history section and then make a chart of the current schools, which can include the pictures of each school, the respective proncipals, and selected stats like enrollment and staff numbers. If you'd like to see an example of what I'm talking about, see Kent City School District#Facilities. --JonRidinger (talk) 04:44, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lists[edit]

Bell schedules and lists of former administrators are not appropriate in school articles unless those people in the list are actually notable. None of the people on the lists I removed were notable. And simply having a source does not mean the person is notable. Also, I removed the private school info because the article is about the public school district, not all schools located within the bounaries of the school district. None of the private schools are part of the district, they just happen to be in the area that is also served by this public district. Whichever group administers the private school should be where the school is mentioned. If there isn't any notability for that group (like a local church or something), the school should be mentioned in whatever city or town it is located in under the Education section. --JonRidinger (talk) 01:46, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To whomever repeatedly adds these large lists of former administrators, bell schedules, and other inappropriate info to this article and other similar articles, please make sure you read the talk pages. Your edits will simply be reverted as they have been several times now. Wikipedia articles are not about *everything* and there are certain limits to their scope as well as stylistic things to keep in mind (such as not using titles like "Mr." or "Dr." or even "Ed.D". --JonRidinger (talk) 03:48, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
