Translation, please[edit]

Before I started the GOCE copy edit, this "Talk" page contained only the following text:

هیئت یا رقیه بویین میاندشت

Would someone please translate it to English for me? Thanks.

Guild of Copy Editors cleanup[edit]

I am handling the copy edit for this article. As I read through the article, I will make minor changes to it directly. I will list lots of other suggestions here on the "Talk" page. Feel free to comment on any suggestion or to ignore any suggestion.

You can also (slowly and carefully) make changes to the article based upon a suggestion while I am still copy editing (approximately 3-4 days to complete).

Lead section[edit]

"The school specialises in wind orchestra and basketball.[2]"

This sentence probably belongs in the "Curriculum" section or the "Extracurricular activities" section.

Infobox[edit]

"Classrooms Pintar, Usaha, Tekun, Elit, Restu, Intelek"

Problems
  • According to Template:Infobox school#Parameters, the "classrooms" parameter should specify "Number of classrooms in the school";
  • None of the terms "Pintar, Usaha, Tekun, Elit, Restu, Intelek" are wikilinked. English-speaking readers (me included) would like to know the meaning of these terms.

History[edit]

"The first groups of Form 6 students, consisting of 102 students"

...but the Infobox says "Grades Form 1 – Form 5". What happened to Form 6?

"On 1 May 2003, Sekolah Seri Puteri moved..."
"grand opening of the new facility was held on 10 April 2007"

Why is there a four-year gap?

School site[edit]

"The main building contains a large hall"

What is its purpose?

"laboratories"

For which subjects?

"workshops blocks"

What is it?

"The main building contains a large hall"
"A great hall holds 1,200 people, and a lecture hall seats 255 people."

Now, readers are confused. Is the great hall or the lecture hall the same as the large hall in the main building? Is the great hall a separate building? Is the lecture hall a separate building? Please create a clearer picture in the mind's eye of readers.

Other possible sections #1[edit]

Following the "School site" section, you could add any of the these sections (in the order specified):

  • "Curriculum"
  • "Extracurricular activities"

[For guidance, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines#Other sections]

Awards and recognition / Academics[edit]

"Dato' Najib Razak"

The Wiki article for "Najib Razak" states that his title is "Dato' Sri".

Awards and recognition / Seri Puteri Winds[edit]

I had to remove this citation. Sorry, it's a very nice video, but YouTube is probably hosting the video in violation of its copyright. (See "Wikipedia:Reliable source examples#Are IRC, MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube reliable sources?" and "Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking to copyrighted works")

<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aANZcXnojg |title=Refleksi Orkestra Promo SSP Sek Sri Puteri |publisher=YouTube |date=}}</ref>

I also had to remove this external link because it now points to the 25th year of the Australian International Music Festival schedule for July 6 - 13, 2014:

http://www.worldprojects.com.au/musicAIMFsyd.htm

Rivalry[edit]

I had to delete the entire "Rivalry" section:

Students of Sekolah Seri Puteri have a long held rivalry with two other all-girls premier boarding schools, [[Sekolah Tun Fatimah]] and [[Kolej Tunku Kurshiah]]. The students compete in areas such as: debate, sports, academics, and band{{Citation needed|date=November 2013}}.

Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines#Neutral point of view discourages discussing school rivalries.

Notable alumni[edit]

[For guidance, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines#Alumni]

All entries (except Vidya Prof. Dr. HJ Siraj Harlina Halizah and Dr. Sawiah Jusoh) need:

  • Year that person graduated from Sekolah Seri Puteri or years that the person attended
  • Citation to verify that the person did indeed attend Sekolah Seri Puteri

"Vidya Prof. Dr. HJ Siraj Harlina Halizah"

I have formatted this entry properly. Please use it as a model.

"Mastura Binti Ma'asud"

Removed the citation—it was a dead link
Needs citation to verify description of notability

"Azlina Jamaluddin"

Needs a brief description of notability
Needs citation to verify description of notability
