Oppose unless the parenthesized disambiguation '(Irish politician)' is kept. Except for the DAB removal this could be done as a technical move. Adding the accent is hardly controversial. Expecting our readers to know that Seán Maloney (the one with the accent) is the politician while the other Sean Maloneys are other things is too much.
