Please note that the article needs a great deal of cleanup. Please compare it to article for leaders such as Siddhartha Shankar Rayw for a more neutral style. Hornplease 12:08, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POV/Cleanup Tag

Article has many subjective descriptors (eg. ""Chhote Saheb" was a very suave and polite politician", "political legacy of his great father."), I have put a cleanup tag however it may require a complete rewrite in order to make it a neutral article PGWG 15:07, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup tag now replaced with neutrality tag - article is full of POV statements PGWG 13:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the external links are obsolete and do not lead to another page/site. These could be deleted. PARIJAT 17:49, 20 September 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parijat.delhi (talkcontribs)

Thank you so much for the kind suggestion. The process of evolution of verifiable official website links and updation of contents is contigous and is being systematically carried out strictly in accordance with wikipedia policies;new links have been provided where older one have migrated to a new domain nomenclature and recent relevant websites and official news & article contents have been linked that provide coherent information. The older links will be totally replaced.

Good to note that you are taking care of the obsolete sites. We still feel that the profile is more of a glorification of a personality and does not reflect the true political course of the person. His removal from the post of CM is an important aspect in his career and can not be / should not have been ignored. It should not be forgotten that he was never allowed to complete his full tenure. In trying to add these facts, we were trying to make the profile more complete. Still, if you think otherwise, all the very best. Mr Singh;Well,if that is the case then the highest constitutional authorities of the land wouldnot have publically eulogized Mr Satyendra Narayan Sinha both at public events and through press releases and articles.A spectrum of eminent personalities, cutting across party lines and regions from throughout the nation(Some of whom are national figures)have time and again paid their tributes to Late Sinha, through every word of praise he was worth off! A statesman's stature is not determined by the duration of terms of offices he held but his place among the masses and Sinha was someone who stood tall among his contemporaries.Inspite of his privileged background,he earned his unique position in public life by the sweat of his brow and dent of his merit. He is not remembered today for the number of elections he won and the positions he adorned but for his principled politics and the respect he commanded from all social sections and from all schools of thought. He,therefore rose above partisan politics and became a legend in his own lifetime.Let us enlighten ourselves with some facts of his life and career.Shri Sinha never hankered after power even when it was well within his reach! His struck by the Janata Party even as it reached the nadir post-Jai Prakash period although he would have been considered a prize catch by the Congress party and could have been the Chief Minister of Bihar for long years. This act of self-abnegation enhanced the charm of his personality but took a high toll on political career. One can do a little research through the available historic political archives in various institutes or even books. He was offered Bihar CMship right there in 1966;when Mrs. Indira Gandhi became the PM and sent then External Affairs Minister to Convey the proposal but he refused because he didnot want to unseat incumbent KB Sahay whom he had helped occupy CM's chair. At the apex of his illustrious career,Satyendra Sinha was right there on the national stage during the middle of historic JP movement in India;when he was the President of Bihar Janata party and a member of core national committee among with likes of Morarji Desai, Chandra Shekhar Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani, Charan Singh, Jagjivan Ram, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Madhu Limaye,George Fernandes and others.Political machinations made sure he couldnot become Janata party Chief Minister of Bihar in 1977 after it won a massive mandate and instead of directly accomadating him in the union ministry;the then Prime Minister appointed him in UN's international committee with rank of a Union Cabinet Minister(he even became its President and stayed on for 10 years). When Charan Singh became the Prime Minister;he came to Patna on his special visit in 1979 and visited Sinha'a residence to invite him to join the Union Cabinet but he did not wanted to leave Morarji Desai. This was his unflappable demeanour and political stamina! He left Janata party, which owed a lot to him after differences with Chandra Shekhar Singh and Prime Minister Indira Gandhi came to Bihar(18 August 1984) only to admit him back into the Congress party but before she could have properly rehabilitated him;she was assassinated on 31 August 1984!.Therefore there is no question of glorifying him when he was already an acknowledged leader of Bihar for decades. He was made the CM by then PM Rajiv Gandhi to provide a clean image to Congress in hindi heartland and the decline in his impressive career came when his chief ministership saw communal frenzy in parts of Bihar and every political scientist and leader who has spoken or analyzed the entire episode for the last 22 years have extensively written how some leaders with vested interests fuelled the events to unsettle Sinha and even lauded him for taking the strictest possible measure available within the scope of our constitutional affairs of things. There's no doubt even Sinha has described it as a black chapter in his well known memoir publised some years ago. While speculations on the past possibilities can go on,Shri SN Sinha would always remain a model, albeit a difficult one,for aspiring leaders to emulate. While we discuss all this; i will also like to conclude on a conceptual note that everyone has a right to hold an opinion and we appreciate your point of view and would stongly add that we will keep updating the article that has been on wikipedia since last 5 years. We will maintain the quality and content of our article and wish you all the best for yours too! Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bn bt ec01 (talkcontribs) 09:06, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
