Samuel Calvert[edit]

There is also Samuel Calvert (England 1828 - England 1913), printmaker and artist from Australia. I don't know his middle name. Commons has a few of his prints. What way would you like to redirect / disambiguate? [see here for small bio]

Great War service[edit]

I searched the Great War service records, and could not find this Calvert. There are two Samuel Calverts in the records, but with different birth dates and places of birth than this one.

Plus he was 47–51 years old during the war, meaning he would have been unlikely to be accepted into the CEF.

The cited source says, "Samuel Calvert ... saw service as a corporal in the 19th Alberta Dragoons". It doesn't say anything about the Great War. Additionally, 19AD did not go overseas as a unit (though there was one cavalry squadron that wore 19AD badges overseas despite not formally being part of that regiment). I think we can say that he was in the NPAM but not the CEF. The timeframe of when he was in 19AD is unclear - before, during, or after the war will have to remain unstated.
