Proposed deletion of Saint Saviour[edit]
Rather than deleting this article as such, why not give it a re-incarnation as a disambiguation page? I haven't a clue as to policy here, and I'm not going to research that aspect now, so this is just a thought and you must make of it what you will - but, I think making it a disambiguation page would be useful, as there are a reasonable number of articles linked to it, and I can think of one that isn't, but could be! - This is a short page, but a legitimate one. My only concern is that the presetn page is more like a disctionary definition than an encyclopaedia article. The present policy is that most individual churches are NN, and so do not deserve WP pages. However, it might be useful to include a list of churches WITH ARTICLES dedicated to St Saviour. We cannot have a general list of churches with that dedication, as it would encourage the creation of articles on NN churches. Peterkingiron (talk) 21:16, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Saint Saviour → Saint Saviour (disambiguation) – I believe that the primary topic for this title is the use of the term as a name of Jesus. A minor saint and a musician aside, all things named "Saint Saviour" are effectively named after Jesus. I would move the disambig to a "(disambiguation)" title and redirect the unadorned title to Jesus, unless and until an article is written covering names of Jesus beyond those used in the New Testament. bd2412 T 15:22, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. Jesus is not generally referred to as Saint Saviour. He may be referred to as the Holy Saviour, but Saint Saviour is usually a place name or a church dedication. -- Necrothesp (talk) 20:20, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

- Yes, but St Thomas or St Francis, with no qualifier, is more likely to refer to a person. However, Jesus is not commonly referred to as St Saviour! Therefore it's best to keep this as a disambiguation page. - We have an article titled Names and titles of Jesus in the New Testament, but it does not cover names or titles used to refer to Jesus outside the New Testament. If we had an article on other such names and titles, that would be the ideal place to include most of the information on this page (describing both the use of "Saint Saviour" as a dedication, and identifying some things so dedicated). bd2412 T 12:37, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose. I don't see any reason to think there is a primary topic for this. While the name derives from a manner of referring to Jesus, it is relatively uncommon in English.
