advertising folder talk[edit]

This 'article' sound like straight from the marketing flyer. I have been to Sahl Hasheesh myself in December and from first hand experiece I can say:
as of now

  • There is no golf course.
  • The location is accessible by NO means of transport. The only way out is by (pretty expensive) hotel shuttles. Public taxi drivers do not come there themselves as there is hardly any business. I think they are not even allowed to enter the area unless they have a passenger on board.
  • As of now, there are only 3 or 4 hotels up and running. The so called 'old town' is still under construction. There are hardly any shops or anything. In general the whole area is nothing but a huge construction site with only the first line of houses (almost) completed. No signs of a 'largest fully integrated resort' let alone of the size of Manhattan.
  • The beach is not 'white sand'. It is the typical Egyptian brown sand. It is a very nice beach with fine sand though, but it is nowhere near white.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my stay there but it is FAR away from the status that some marketing guy tried to describe in this article. I guess it will take at least another decade of construction to get there. So maybe the article should be adjusted to reflect the current progress or maybe it should even be deleted until Sahl Hashees has actually reached the final status. --212.204.105.130 (talk) 16:20, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it was marketing material. It came from here: http://www.magicsurprisetravel.com/Sahl-Hashesh I tried to update the article to remove the "marketing material". There do seem to be golf courses there now. http://sahl-hasheesh.net/map/ Level C (talk) 12:56, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
