Merger proposal[edit]

I am proposing that Sartaj Singh (character) be merged into this page. The character is not independently notable outside of the universe of this work of fiction, and a significant portion of the material in the source page is more relevant to the destination page (i.e. the TV show). Lead[edit]

  • Only problem here is with the first sentence of the last paragraph, which reads: "The first four episodes of Sacred Games premiered on 30 June 2018". This is then followed by "and the full eight-episode season was released on Netflix on 5 July 2018". Were the first four episodes of the series released on Netflix or somewhere else? If they were from Netflix, shouldn't this be mentioned in the infobox? If they weren't, it should be mentioned in the lead.

  • It should be mentioned that "Netflix approached Phantom Films to produce a series" in 2016.
It was 2014 according to this source.
  • There is no mention in this reference that it was 2014 when "Vikramaditya Motwane met the Netflix team during a visit to Los Angeles". The reference (from 2018) states that it happened "three and a half years ago", which could be 2014 or 2015.
Removed that bit.
  • The reference right after the sentence finishing with "and thought it was 'great'" should be marked as dead.
Replaced the dead link.
  • The sentence "calling the process" seems vague. It should be mentioned that Motwane was referring to writing for the show.
Fixed.
  • The phrase "parallel tracks" is not mentioned in its reference.
Tweaked
  • The claim "since he read it in 2006 when it was published" needs a reference.
Removed. I couldn't find a ref.
  • The sentence "In 2014, he was approached by AMC and Scott Free Productions to direct an English-language adaptation of the novel" is mentioned nowhere in the reference right after it. However, a small mention can be found in the following citation, so I would replace it.
Added the above mentioned source. The first source does mentions that he was offered the series in 2014.
  • The reference after "it had to be a gripping slow-burner" is dead, so it should be marked as dead with "url-status=dead".
Fixed dead URL.
  • The sentence ending with "the Kurukshetra War" should be referenced.
It is covered in the following reference.
  • The fact that the poison was "created from the churning of the sea" is not mentioned in the reference.
Samudra manthan literally means "sea churning".
  • "Aatapi and Vatapi were two demons who tricked travellers with hospitality and killed them" is pure copy-pasting. Rephrase it, or add quotation marks.

Casting and characters[edit]
  • As the only previous mentions are in #Cast and the lead, it should be mentioned who Saif Ali Khan portrays on the show (Inspector Sartaj Singh).

  • This reference does not say that Radhika Apte "did not read the novel".

  • The sentence needs to be fixed: "...casting popular actors like Khan and Siddiqui "drives a larger audience to watch. He said that it was easier to convince Apte and Neeraj Kabi for the roles after Khan and Siddiqui were cast." The reference has part of it, but I think there are missing quotation marks that would divide the main text from the article.

  • This section also an incorrect spelling of "Kuckoo". Change it to "Kukoo" or "Kukkoo" per the reference used and to be consistent with other sections (like #Cast).

  • The sentence "the lack of references for the role made it "the most challenging experience" of her career" is also copy-pasted.
Tweaked
  • This reference does not state that Elnaaz Norouzi "developed a large Instagram following for her Hindi accent".

  • I notice that you can't link the YouTube video from the first sentence because it's from a random user, so I suggest replacing it with a different source.

  • Whatever ": " is, is not good. Please remove the two uses of ": " (not just the colons, but the actually ": ") and merge the sentences in which they appeared.

Everything looks great, but at the moment, the only thing that needs to be addressed is the claim that Aarti Bajaj edited the series in #Casting_and_characters, which isn't supported by this source.
