Names[edit]

The name in the breed's country of origin, Spain, is Sabueso Español, but the breed seems to be called by a wide variety of translations in English, and also by combinations of the English translation and the Spanish name. The FCI translates it as "Spanish Hound" and the UKC uses that. Other clubs and registries have their own ideas about the name, but it is all the same breed. Identifying it by the FCI number would help the confusion.
