ASAP is followed as an implementation methodology for many of the organisations

OMFG the worse article ever!!!!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.86.34.163 (talk) 06:31, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The sentences noted below should be deleted. It is a blatant advertisement for a book, and the footnote reference links directly to a page selling the book.

"There are various SAP implementation methods. An example of how one company, Robert Bosch GmbH, implemented SAP R/3 over 10 years is available [1]. This study shows that designing IT architecture is very critical in SAP implementation practices. [edit] "

I'm deleting the link as per Wikipedia policy under "Links normally to be avoided" point #5

Lead makes no sense[edit]

REALLY Poor article which does not address the realities of implementing SAP in a corporate environment. It is highly generic and grossly summarised and misses out on significant factors in implementing SAP. It reads as an article written by someone with no experience in SAP implementation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.28.92.59 (talk) 08:19, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll admit, I've only read the lead, having come here to learn what SAP is. After reading the lead, I will not venture past into the article. I'll go through each sentence to point out my problems.

SAP implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to implement the SAP ERP enterprise resource planning software in an organization.

This says nothing. I read this as "SAP is (jargon) to implement SAP." I still have no idea what SAP is except that it somehow is defined as a collection of processes to implement itself.

The SAP implementation method described in this entry is a generic method and not a specific implementation method as such.

It's generic *and* not specific? Why not just say it's generic and leave it at that?

It is based on best practices and case studies from various literature sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan and execute the implementation of SAP software.

This just makes me want to run screaming before I finish the sentence. It's based on "best practices," which ones? This sounds like marketing drivel with no content. Again, "case studies from various sources," which ones? And then once we get past the drivel, the content of this sentence is that "SAP presents a collection of (jargon) to implement SAP." That's what the first sentence said.

In summary I read the content in the lead as follows: SAP is what you need to implement SAP. SAP is generic. SAP is good and gives you what you need to implement SAP completely.

And what exactly is SAP????? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.203.77 (talk) 14:15, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. First I would like to know whether you want to know about SAP or SAP Implementation.Anyway here i would like to desribe about SAP in simple language. SAP or any other ERP software is basically a Virtual Model of your business. You can imagine it like a video game. just like a video game simulated the real warfare, SAP simulates the business process. The only difference is that this simulation is in realtime.Basically SAP is to record all the business transactions.

SAP implementation is basically to put this software in use in sync of your business. It is having 5 phases. You can learn about them in detail in various websites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.22.34.83 (talk) 09:29, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The first time an acronym or abbreviation appears in an encyclopedia article, it should be spelled out, and defined in general terms that are comprehensible to people who are not already familiar with the subject matter. I'll try adding something to the first sentence to help with that. Palmpilot900 (talk) 16:04, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
