Marriage[edit]

Trying to confirm what happened with her marriage. Compensation is dedicated to "Katherine and Mary Holmes Newlin", who appear to be younger siblings of William Bleecker Newlin.[1]. (NY Times marriage announcement said "Bleecher", but this seems to be same person.) William was born in 1881. Doing some searching, I see genealogy records of William marrying a Zola Watson circa 1916, and had a daughter Nancy with her. This is a shame because the 1915 New York Sun profile of Ruth painted a happy portrait of the couple, with probing typical of the time period regarding how her husband viewed her writing career.--Milowenthasspoken 18:58, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
