RTOC - Russian True Orthodox ChurchRussian True Orthodox Church – This denomination refers to itself as "Russian True Orthodox Church" in English, with "RTOC" used as an abbreviation. The compound name in the title appears to be original to this article and not a name in use. The acronym is explained immediately in the lead, and does not need to be expanded in the title. Moreover, this entity is currently the only thing referred to as either "Russian True Orthodox Church" or "RTOC" to have an article in the English Wikipedia, so there is no need for premature disambiguation either. Therefore, the official English name should be used. The True Russian Orthodox Church and Catacomb Church can be distinguished by hatnotes. 50.248.234.77 (talk) 13:10, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I moved the page to Russian True Orthodox Church, now I will delete the previous one. Attila1988 (talk) 13:49, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why not rename this article "Russian True Orthodox Church (2001)"? Veverve (talk) 13:48, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In Russia there are different church orga isations under the name: Russian True Orthodox Church. They all claim to be the inheritors of the Catacomb Church that was created around 1925. Attila1988 (talk) 16:03, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How can I move this article to the suggested place? Attila1988 (talk) 18:34, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Attila1988: I can do it for you. Since you are a new user you do not have the permission to move articles. However, what is the name you agree upon? Is it "Russian True Orthodox Church (2001)"? Veverve (talk) 19:06, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Veverve: Thank you very much for your help. As I mentioned earlier all these different church organisations that call themself "Russia True Orthodox Church" consider themself to be the continuation of the catacomb church that was founded around 1925 (there is not an exact date actually). I think to distinguish this cnurch organisatjons from the other we could use the name of it's founder: Lazar Zhurbenko. So it would look like this: Russian True Orthodox Church (Lazar Zhurbenko)

Please let me know what you think Attila1988 (talk) 05:03, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Attila1988: rename done. Veverve (talk) 07:28, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Veverve: Thank you very much! Attila1988 (talk) 08:03, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I won't withdraw a requested move that's been open this long, but I'm perfectly satisfied with the current naming. 50.248.234.77 (talk) 17:38, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
