Encyclopedia Americana[edit]
We're citing Blankenburg's entry in the 1920 edition of the Encyclopedia Americana, which says that he was elected for two two-year terms as mayor. That's wrong; as the list of mayors of Philadelphia article notes, mayoral terms were four years beginning in 1885, and from that time until 1940 a mayor couldn't succeed himself. See also the City of Philadelphia's own list of its own mayors.
I've fixed this article. I'm inclined to remove the reference to Encyclopedia Americana; it has only a brief paragraph about Blankenburg with few facts and this fairly major error. TypoBoy (talk) 17:36, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
