Same role as Home Guard?[edit]

The RDC were actually full time soldiers, although not front line troops. The Home Guard were unpaid and did duties in their spare time; surely the World War I equivalent would have been the Volunteer Training Corps (World War I)? Alansplodge (talk) 23:03, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done! I may try to find some info about the Home Service Battalions in WWII. Alansplodge (talk) 11:04, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A reliable source for this would be the Spectator archive so the date of foundation would have to be changed into 1916. http://archive.spectator.co.uk/article/25th-march-1916/3/last-saturday-an-army-order-was-issued-stating-tha --M.Buelles (talk) 16:06, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
