Rewritten page[edit]

Hello all North Dakota or Zoo fans - I picked this stub off the zoo stub category list to spend a few days with. I've never visited and have zero ties to the zoo. I could not find a citation to the zoo being run by the Park District and the Greater Minot Zoological Society, normally I would remove unsourced claims, but felt it was important to the article, but added a "cn" tag for someone else to find. I mainly used newspapers.com and turned up a lot of fiddly bits of articles, very rarely anything substantial. I left the fiddly bits in the history section, but would love to see some information on why the zoo was named after Roosevelt, I assume Teddy because it was opened in 1921, and any discussions about the formation of the park. I could find nothing in the newspapers about it. Also would like to have more about the part management, who is the current director, maybe even a area with the years of the past directors would be interesting?

The real frustration is the lack of photos for the article. Thankfully someone who took photos of a bench dedication uploaded four images, I'm using three of them. The main photo is the closeup of the wolf, obviously this is not an article about wolves, but it is pretty much all we have, and that wolf was in the zoo at the time of it's photo. I have written to the zoo, to people who have images on Flickr and to a photo history Facebook page for ND and it's too early to expect someone to respond. The Flickr photos are copywritten but I left about six people messages in the hope they will upload their images. There is an amazing image of the 2011 flood photos from a drone that I think would be terrific to have.

So this is where we are, I welcome others to update and keep this page in great shape. Enjoy!
