Birth year[edit]

According to William Dalrymple, The Anarchy (on p.76 of the 2020 Bloomsbury edition):

This [the high mortality rate of Europeans in 18th century Bengal] meant the city tended to be full of young men; Roger Drake, for example was only thirty when he was appointed Governor.

From this I deduce that Drake was born in 1722. Or perhaps I should say c. 1722? Also, I am tacitly assuming that the Presidendy of the Fort of St. George (said currently in the article to have been given to him in 1752) is what Dalrymple means by Governor. (Well, what else could it be?).

A more explicit source would be better, but I think this is better than nothing.
