Dodgy writing[edit]

In 1980 he was approached by a management company which specialized in questionably-reformed bands with big names, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.78.183.249 (talk) 11:29, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In what universe is 'Someone also called them sci-fi rock, but anyway their first self-titled album became a rarity, because it was only distributed by Capricorn Records, a small label from Macon, Georgia ...' considered a good sentence for a reference encyclopaedia?

"genuine Deep Purple"[edit]

Should the suing members be described as genuine when Rod was an original band member and so should have more, or at least equal, right to the name than anyone who came after him and equal right to the sametime members. Also, the other lineup had split in 1976 and stated they would never perform again, so no valid case at all for them to sue. Middle More Rider (talk) 17:43, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A judge, clearly, disagreed with you about the validity of the case. Hondo77 (talk) 13:36, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And in any case, the Talk Pages are not a forum to discuss your personal views - it is for the discourse on Reliable Sources for the improvement of the articles. 50.111.56.58 (talk) 05:38, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to play the attitude like that,
From the article, "sing again under the Deep Purple name", "again", meaning he was someone who had genuinely been in Deep Purple before. And "management of the genuine Deep Purple, which had disbanded in 1976", "disbanded", so they were no more or less Deep Purple than him. He and them were all ex-members of the original. Not opinion, fact.
Also, a judge's opinion in making a judgement may or may not be based on fact, the judge ruled based on either what he truelly thought was justice, or what he claimed was justice.
