Countries[edit]

Like every other article on rivers that flow through more than one country the infobox should list these, NI is a country but not in the same terms as the UK or ROI, and this should be reflected in a similar fashion to the likes of the Danube. IPs used by a blocked sock and other proxy IPs, possibly the same sock, are now editing out the consistency and re-adding thier view. Murry1975 (talk) 15:49, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the river Rhine wiki page lists leichenstein as a country in the infobox even though it is a Principality. What of consistency? In your previous edit summary you stated that only states can be entered into the infobox. That was not correct.
Ibar (river) lists Kosovo as a country, but is it? Misleading research Murry1975, shame shame. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.15.240 (talk) 20:45, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No they arent misleading. Kosovo is an odd case as it is recognised by the UN but not Serbia. Liechtenstien is its own state, with international recogintion. NI is a country within the UK, Ireland or as it is here ROI is too a recognised state. Murry1975 (talk) 15:29, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Like every other article on rivers, that would imply that your research had covered every river related WP. Which obviously you havent. It seems like you are making it up as you go along Murry1975. If it is matter of consistency, wikipedia considered Kosovo a region, not a country. So should we then go a head and change the infobox on the Ibar (river)? Also the Neman River throws up a different view. You also said that only a state can be entered into the infobox. That is obviously not true as the template only suggests country and here I have found examples were wiki has allowed for non sovereign states to be used in the Country Field. You have also engaged in gaming the 1RR rule by making a revert just outside of 24 hrs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.114.44.209 (talk) 15:51, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the countries listed should be UK and RoI as this is a river shared by these two countries. Question for Factocop; how many IP's do you have access to? BTW if you have a problem with Kosovo or the Ibar river I suggest you take it there. Bjmullan (talk) 16:09, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Factocop???? wires crossed. I was simply pointing out the holes in Murry1975's misleading research. Murry1975, you said that Like every other article on rivers, state was used in the country field and that only a state could be used in this field. I have shown 2 examples where this is not the case. Please stop twisting facts to force through your Irish Nationalist Pov and focus making this article accurate and more specific. The river flows through Derry which according to its wiki page is a city in Country:Northern Ireland. So if it is a matter of consistency the river infobox should also reflect this dont you think? I am happy to have NI in the country field as it is a country in the UK.
SHow the gaming you accuse me of on the 1RR? You will find I havent. Murry1975 (talk) 16:14, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
:::::::::::::Playing the game.

And you have now perposely and with intent yourself breached the 1RR. Murry1975 (talk) 17:09, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its quite odd that one IP hopping editor is undoing editors and admins without the slightest care for their breach of the 1RR, and accuse others of bieng in breach, when they are not. Consensus, judging by the editors reverting and supporting are with the stable version, not the quasi-Northern Irish nationalistic view been given by ONE BLOCK EVADING EDITOR. Murry1975 (talk) 08:23, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same old nationalist bull shit. Objecting because they don't like it. So Murry1975 objected on 2 counts of consistency and template. Consistency? The river flows through a city which is in country:Northern Ireland to a Lough that is basin countries:Northern Ireland. So I find it hard that consistency is too high on your agenda. Also the template does allow for country:Northern Ireland. Mire Bullocks. And Bjmullan, your agenda is obvious but its odd that you created an infobox for Lough Foyle wp with basin countries:northern Ireland yet here you object.2 objections from 2 users not interested in improving the page only pushing their pov. Welcome to Wikipedia!

The river flows through a city that is in the UK, odd the way you dont know that. So its more a case of the same old BS from a sockfarmer. Page is protected now so you cant try to convince the world that NI isnt part of the UK. Murry1975 (talk) 20:34, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
same old nationalist bullshit, Northern Ireland doesn't exist blah blah blah. Seriously? Why are you trying to convince the world that the river doesn't flow through Northern Ireland? And your token objection of consistency is laughable. I've shown other editors watching this page that you and Bjmullan have no cause for objection, only the standard "I don't like it so u won't collaborate to help improve the page". This sort of behavior us tiring. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.128.250 (talk) 09:05, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
NI is part of the UK get over it. Murry1975 (talk) 10:21, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ha! Typical. Ignore the questions and lock the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.150.188.221 (talk) 14:25, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
