Kingston, not Kingson[edit]

The article says his name is Kingston, not Kingson, and yet the article title reads his name as Kingson. Could someone please rename the article if there is no reason for this? 71.36.118.71 04:44, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Kingson came from a mistake on his jersey in one of the 2006 FIFA World Cup matches, but why was this, and the other languages on wiki renamed to Kingson? It's Kingston. Can 02:24, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to his current club Hammarby IF his name IS Kingson. Source for those of you who know swedish: http://www.hammarbyfotboll.se/se/aktuellt/artiklar/?articleid=30343

He has confirmed that his name is, quote "K.I.N.G.S.O.N" - No T? - "No, no T" on his current club, Hammarby IF's Web-tv Even though i think that Kingston sounds better, his name, as someone claims was misspelled "Kingson" but that's not true, his name was misspelled "Kingston" on his shirt in the WC, that is also why i at first thought that Kingston was his surname, but it is'nt. Kingson is correct, end of discussion. :) Can someone please change it to Kingson? Don't know if i can do it myself or how...

His brother called Laryea Kingston. Matthew_hk tc 17:07, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He himself states that the spelling of his name is Kingson (and on a direct question states that it is NOT with a t) in this interview (at around one minute in): http://www.svenskafans.com/fantv/player/dev_flash.asp?clip=2705&cat=0&list=all So, the name is Kingson. • I changed the article so his name is Kingson, but I have no idea how to move it to the Richard Kingson article instead of Kingston. Can someone please do this? 13:43, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Both the BBC and Sky Sports use Kingston instead of Kingson. [1] [2] I'm in favour of changing the article's title. - Tocino 20:43, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looks like you mean they use Kingson. (Or things have changed since 2007.) I've recently re-changed the page to Kingson and added an explanation at the top. --JamesBrownJr (talk) 23:59, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is an interview on the Hammarby website where he EXPLICITLY states there is "No T" in his surname. Mjefm 13:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

This article needs a major cleanup. At the minute, it just seems like a hodge-podge of facts with no actual structure. I'm not all that au-fait with Kingston's career, but I'm sure someone who is could give this article the TLC it needs. - PeeJay 21:17, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
