Useful if...[edit]

It could be useful to check out fi:Renault R29 for some information to use in this article. --"Cardinalen" (talk) 23:06, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

LeaveSleaves: Please stop deleting this article. The R29 launch is in less than 48 hours from the time of this post, at which time additional information will be availabe and can be added to the page. Willit63 (talk) 03:57, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to start the article or create framework. This things can be done once the car is launched. The article in its present state serves no purpose and contains no significant information. Creation of article prior to the launch can be considered crystalballery. LeaveSleaves 03:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The significance of the information in this article is a matter of opinion. In my view the information provided, including the launch date and location, is significant. I believe many other Renault F1 supporters probably feel the same way. The article in its present state serves the purpose of alerting interested parties to the eminent launch. It is by no means crystalballery as the information provided is referenced by an authoritative source. Willit63 (talk) 04:07, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We are not here for the Renault F1 supporters, and we're not here to "alert people" of eminent launch. If someone wants to know the date of launch of Renault's 2009 challenger, it's easily available on 2009 Formula One season. The only information you have is a name, a launch date, and a location. That is not enough to create an Wikipedia article. The359 (talk) 09:08, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is for everyone, including Renault F1 supporters. The purpose of Wikipedia is to provide factual information about a variety of topics including planned future events. I would site Obama's pending inauguration as a prime example. I maintain that the information provided in this article is significant and should be left in place as is until further information is available following the launch. Please stop redirecting this article to the Renault F1 page. Willit63 (talk) 21:17, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please check this article to insure it conforms to the standard race car format? This was done earlier before LeaveSleaves redirected the article to Renault F1. Also, any advice on the correct process for resolving disputes of this nature would be appreciated. Willit63 (talk) 21:25, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The information here is not significant enough to deserve its own article at the moment. We have an article on the inauguration because there is actually a variety of information already known about it, it's not an "unveiling". You've yet to add anything except launch dates and data already known on 2009 Formula One season. You seem to fail to understand some of the basics of how Wikipedia works.
You are close to violating WP:3RR. The359 (talk) 22:02, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure there are many things about Wikipedia I don't completely understand, but I'm trying. Perhaps you could help by explaining why it is inappropriate to create this page ahead of the launch as a framework for information which is expected to become available within a few hours? Willit63 (talk) 22:13, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It has been explained. At the moment, you have no tangible information on the subject. All you have is "It'll be launched on this date, here." That's not enough for an article. There's no time limit, it wont kill you or any other readers to wait until after the car is launched and a full article with all the information on the car can be written. The information you provide here can easily be found on 2009 Formula One season for those precious readers that might want to know so badly. The359 (talk) 22:25, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'll take your advice and recreate this article after the launch when more detailed information can be included. I don't see the harm in creating the framework ahead of time, but I will defer to your judgment. Thanks. Willit63 (talk) 22:40, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These archive URLs are not useful. So I've reverted and used {{cbignore}}. DH85868993 (talk) 03:31, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
