Pronounciation[edit]

We tried to clarify the pronunciation of Regina, since we had been mispronouncing it for years. What is wrong with adding that it rhymes with vagina? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.84.1.68 (talkcontribs) .

Saying one word rhymes with another is too ambiguous. It could end up requiring that a person go look up the pronunciation of the other word provided, making the association pretty much useless. Anyway, Wikipedia:Manual of Style (pronunciation) would the the policy you are looking for. Pronunciation should be done with the International Phonetic Alphabet. -Dawson 07:41, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add to this thread for any of the other Reginas in the world who don't pronounce their name like vagina. It's pronounced Ra-Gee-Nah. I was tormented as an adolescent by every sniggering boy in my very large high school when a teacher mispronounced my name. The city sounds like vagina, my name does not!

Re: Regina M. Scott[edit]

I just moved the article "Regina M. Scott" from the main disambiguation page to new article page Regina M. Scott. It was present in the disambiguation page of Regina. The original matter is not mine. --Victor.P.Das 20:50, 25 May 2006 (UTC) Removed (nn bio and spam) --Victor.P.Das 21:09, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
