Notability[edit]

The chances are reasonably high that this article was created by a relative of its subject. I have just massively pruned the thing, given that it had been tagged for sources since 2008 and contained a lot of trivial and poorly phrased information. Aside from the one source that I have added, I am struggling to find any mention of Naik except as a passing mention in occasional (and much mirrored) lists. In particular, I've tried in vain with the present-day UNCHS website at unjabitat.org and also the archived version of its earlier site. I've also looked at Indian newspapers, which were certainly online around the time of his death even though not at the time when he allegedly won some sort of award.

I fear that unless something turns up soon, this is a candidate for deletion. - Sitush (talk) 22:25, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Someone keeps adding this book. It is a mirror of our content. It even says as much in the Google Books blurb, and it comes from a well-known print-on-demand plagiarising publisher. Please stop. - Sitush (talk) 22:45, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Please note that, per this edit, Jyotinaik has admitted to being a relation of the article subject. Hence my recent tagging. - Sitush (talk) 22:49, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why is that a problem? Jyotinaik (talk) 23:52, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Because of the information at WP:COI, which I linked to on your talk page some time ago. You are unlikely to be able to edit neutrally when so close to the subject matter. - Sitush (talk) 23:58, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Name of firm[edit]

Jyotinaik, I am really struggling to source this article, even in its pruned state. What was the name of his firm? Surely there must be press coverage of the shortlisting and state recognition? And how big was the firm? If it was just, say, him and an assistant then it is worth noting but if it was a big business then the award does not really reflect on him personally, although we could still mention that he headed it. - Sitush (talk) 15:30, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have worked out from company registers that the firm was Ranjit Naik Architects Pvt. Ltd. Unfortunately, I can't even find a passing mention of them and everything else that I have found so far consists of his name in a single sentence, often as part of a bibiographic note. It isn't looking great. - Sitush (talk) 16:48, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
