I added this tag because of the absence of citations and the originality of thought presented. - Freechild 23:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This was a real belief and set out at length in Joseph Furphy's Such is Life, where it was applied to southeastern Australia generally, not just South Australia.--Grahame (talk) 07:29, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was also covered in Jonathan Raban's Badlands, published in the US, looking at the history of development of the Great Plains.--Parkwells (talk) 16:47, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
