Proposed merge of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation into Radio Pakistan[edit]

Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) is just the legal name for Radio Pakistan (RP). PBC/RP serves as the parent of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV). PBC/RP was previously known as "Pakistan Broadcasting Service" (the legal name). This is made amply clear by the Radio Pakistan website itself:

The words “this is Pakistan Broadcasting Service” which went on air at the midnight of August 14‚ 1947‚ marked the birth of Radio Pakistan. It was converted into Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) on December 20‚ 1972 as a statutory body governed by the Board of Directors and the Director General.

What we have here is the legal name (PBC) of RP being projected as different entity altogether and as a parent company of both RP and PTV when it is same as RP and only serves as the parent company of PTV. Hence, I propose that the PBC article should be merged here. Gotitbro (talk) 12:45, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Hockeycatcat: when you reverted 192.142.150.116 with this edit you might have missed this discussion. I agree that the IP user redirected, rather than merged, so agree with your reversion. However, do you have an objection to the merge? Klbrain (talk) 19:12, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Klbrain: Hello, I have no objection. I was just patrolling the recent changes and thought it was suspicious. Nowhere did it say that it was discussed here. I apologise. You can do what's best. Cheers, Hockeycatcat (talk) 10:34, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Understandable; just thought that I'd check before spending time on a merge ... Klbrain (talk) 10:37, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
