RMS[edit]

(answering this and section above it) I'd say that this dab page should be moved to RMS Empress of Canada. All three ships carried the prefix "RMS". Such a move would be in accordance with WP:MOSSHIP. Mjroots (talk) 07:17, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added the RMS to the page and moved it to this location per conversation above. It now follows WP:MOSSHIP. You were reverted without explanation but neither did you supply an edit summary to explain your reasons for changing the page. Empress of Canada now redirects here. Okay so everything is settled now. It is often a challenge to distinguish valid edits from facts vandalism by anons, which we get all the time, and mistakes will happen. It does help to provide an edit summary, which usually I do. Also (this only my opinion not official policy) - while edits from non registered users are always welcome, serious contributors are encouraged to get an account and join the Wikipedia community. Just because something is challenging doesn't mean that it isn't worth trying. A kneejerk reaction to IP additions is not permitted - WMF doesn't care about your opinions on registration, and neither do we. Unregistered users are a part of the community, just they don't all treat this free encyclopedia as a social networking site. Get with the program. What happened to AGF and civility? I do appreciate IP contribution and while mistakes are inevitable, we are always careful checking IP edits. No kneejerk reflexes here. It does state (somewhere) in the welcome pages the advantages of opening an account. When you have a user name and the others see you making good contributions and watch your learning curve, naturally your edits are more trusted. It's nothing to do with snobbery. I would venture that WMF does value the opinion of its members. I don't know what your experience here has been but other than a bit of humour here and there - which is good, I don't see people here to socialise. I'm with the program, you might try it sometime.
