Electric vehicle conversion indicates that sixteen 6-volt batteries weigh 1,040 pounds. This would imply that the batteries in the Reva weigh about 520 pounds (out of a total vehicle weight of 1,640 pounds). I have not been able to find a reference to confirm that, however.

So what are the ACTUAL performance specs?[edit]

Even the article itself is contradictory, and one set of figures disagree with what I thought was the case. As far as I knew, it could do about 40mph in DC form (~65kmh), and 50 with AC (80kmh). The article variously claims the latter, and also "60kmh for DC, and increased almost (?!) 10kmh to 70kmh for AC". OK, got a selection of stats from GoinGreen... there have been THREE models - DC, AC, and "i" ... is it ok to add this info in, even though it's from the other site?

Er, I'll take a G-Wiz "i", if I absolutely have to, then. Just from the spec list it looks like the older ones deserve their reputation for poor safety and performance - I'd seriously think twice (thrice..) about getting into a car with it's listed level of automotive technology, let alone buying and driving one. For the £3500 which a second-hand one (with 2 1/2 year old battery pack) is selling for on GoinGreen, certainly not, even at the claimed 1.1p per mile!
Right now the existing article seems in a bit of a tangle so I'm not sure how to re-engineer it other than picking apart completely... another time. It's not super important :)82.46.180.56 (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]


SUV classification[edit]

In the info sidebar, the G-Wiz is classified as a battery electric microcar and an SUV. Is it really an SUV, it doesn't exactly fit the definition of 'light truck chassis' in the SUV page.. Wogone (talk) 13:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Weird redirect[edit]

I tried searching for G-Whizz because of an iPad app I was told about. I get redirected to this page, and the only available disambiguation is for the word Reva. I try searching for the word G-Whizz on the page, nothing found, which impies G-Whizz has nothing to do with this page. In the opening paragraph it says the REVAi is sold as the G-Wiz in the UK. G-Wiz redirects here. Various other misspellings redirect either here or to REVA (G-Whizz redirects to REVA). This the correct thing to do - except possibly they should all redirect to here and not to REVA. At the top of this article there is a link to Reva (disambiguation). I can't find any Wikipedia article about an iPad app called G-Whizz. If such an article existed then we could add a similar disambiguation link at the top of this article.  Stepho  talk  14:32, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An accident[edit]

I have reverted this edit, which reinstated a story from the Daily Mail. The editor who restored it claimed it balances the company claims--no it doesn't. It's an article from a tabloid, mentioning one single accident, published while the accident was still being investigated (so who knows what's going on there), and without any general statements about the car's safety--though there is plenty of innuendo. What could balance the company claims is a report by some reliable agency, reported on in a reliable source. But since the article already has three paragraphs of criticism (the same criticism reported in the Daily Mail article) in the "Safety concerns" section, some of which duplicated in the section below it, there seems to be plenty of balance already. Not just in the Daily Mail. The London Evening Standard also reported the death. And The Metro. While you clearly don't like the Daily Mail, and frankly I don't blame you, it is a widely read newspaper and can't be ignored. It also reported the accident inquest. Oddly you revert the only mention of someone dying in a REVAi, rather than edit the "Safety concerns" section to include this event. Warren (talk) 16:08, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, what's odd is that you apparently have access to better material (like the other article from the Daily Mail, which cites The Automobile Association) but didn't include that. Someone just now removed the 2008 company claim (which at the time may or may not have been true, but as a company claim it warrants inclusion); I think that should be reinstated along with a much more complete paragraph not about this individual accident, but about the consequences drawn from it.
