Notability?[edit]

I believe we need to address the question of whether this event is sufficiently notable to be included as an article in Wikipedia. Please carefully read the general notability guidelines and the specific guidelines for notability of events and try to give an objective, impartial evaluation of this article in relationship to these guidelines. Some possible specific questions:

  • Is this accident likely to have a broader lasting effect, beyond the accident itself? For example, is the event reasonably likely to lead to improvements in road safety standards in Albania? Or, is it likely to affect popular support for (or opposition to) current government policies or personalities in Albania?
  • Is there any significant impact over a wider region, or is it really specific only to Albania (and perhaps also Kosovo)? The fact that condolences have been offered by the Pope and by various other governments may not necessarily be sufficient to satisfy this concern.
  • Was the accident's impact on the Eurovision broadcasts in Albania sufficient to establish notability for this article?
  • Has it been covered in any depth in the international media (such as, for example, the New York Times, BBC News, or CNN)?
  • Is there any reason to suppose this event was the result of criminal or terrorist activity, and not an accident?
  • If this sort of thing happens frequently in Albania (!!), might this accident be better dealt with as part of a more comprehensive article about road or vehicle safety concerns in Albania?

Please understand here that I'm not pushing for a quick decision to delete this article as non-notable. I just want to make sure that the question is being satisfactorily addressed — because I believe it's likely that someone, at some time, will propose that it is not sufficiently notable to merit its own article, and people need to be thinking about how to respond to such a suggestion if/when it does come. — Richwales 17:38, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CV-revdel 11 April 2021[edit]

The sources were copyvioed from various communiques and PR releases cited in the bibliography. I mass translated and pasted into User:Moneytrees/dummy, so an admin may check the redacted revision Special:diff/1017129336 for the pasted text. I'm not exactly sure which sources, but all came from within. Feel free to decline, this is fairly borderline and I feel safer tagging and getting declined than leaving it be.
